On September 18, 2015, UPMC San Pietro FBF Advanced Radiotherapy Center in Rome will host the 3rd Annual UPMC International Symposium on Stereotactic Radiosurgery and Stereotactic Body Radiotherapy. This year’s symposium will focus on the potentialities of stereotactic body radiotherapy in the treatment of brain, lung, prostate, and liver cancer. The event will involve a one-day fully interactive educational program spread over four sessions. Hands-on sessions on CT simulations, treatment planning, quality assurance, and motion analysis will be run the following day (September 19th). Target group includes radiation oncologists, medical physicists, radiation therapists, and allied health professionals, as well as neurosurgeons, surgeons, medical oncologists, and researchers. The first and second SRS/SBRT symposiums took place in Dublin in 2012 and 2013, and were attended by over 250 participants arriving from Ireland, UK, Italy, other European countries, and from the U.S.A.

As part of University of Pittsburgh Cancer Center International Network, UPMC San Pietro FBF follows evidence-based guidelines and protocols validated on the extensive University of Pittsburgh Cancer Institute (UPCI) and UPMC CancerCenter network.
