Rationale

The goal of the 2022 Symposium is to highlight the latest developments in surgery, pharmaceuticals and radiotherapy for locally advanced oncological pathologies of the following body sites: central nervous system, thorax, abdomen and pelvis focusing on possible multidisciplinary integrations.

The Symposium aims to bring together surgeons, radiation oncologists, interventional radiologists, and medical oncologist to update and confront on the latest news and their impacts on every single discipline and transversally among them to build more and more integrated therapeutic strategies.

Thanks to UPMC’s international stature and vast clinical experience, this event represents a great opportunity to disseminate scientific knowledge on the latest developments in the treatment of oncological patients across Europe and worldwide.

The event is free and is accredited with the CME Program, by EP Congressi/CME Manager.

Associated Professor, University of Pittsburgh

Prof. Gentile is the Medical Director of UPMC Hillman Cancer Center San Pietro FBF Advanced Radiotherapy Center (Rome), and chief of the Radiotherapy Unit of San Pietro Fatebenefratelli Hospital (Rome), where he provides oversight and supervision of clinical radiation oncology.

He is Associate Professor at the University of Pittsburgh, and he oversees physicians’ in-service yearly training courses, both at Catholic University – Rome Campus, and San Pietro Nursing School (University of Rome Sapienza).

Prof. Heath D. Skinner

Chair of Radiation Oncology, University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine, Pittsburgh

Heath D. Skinner, MD, PhD, is chair and medical director of the Department of Radiation Oncology and an associate professor at UPMC Hillman Cancer Center, specializing in the study and treatment of head and neck and lung cancer.

Dr. Skinner’s research is designed to generate insights that led to the rational design of clinical trials using agents that are currently under investigation to minimize the time from bench to bedside.

Dr. Skinner is board-certified in radiation oncology.
